The next League meeting will
be on Monday 9th March 2020
at Cheadle Social Club 8.00pm.

At the League meeting two
complaints were raised for
consideration.

One relates to players paying
attention when they have to
referee a game. We appreciate
that this is not some peoples
most popular part of the night,
but this is just as important
to the outcome of a match as
playing your frame.
Please respect not only your
team member but your opponents.

The second concerns talking
and banter that sometimes gets
out of hand, this can be very
disturbing to players especially
when playing their shots.
We would not consider this
acceptable if we were a
spectator at a professional
event so why would it be okay
for us.
The message is give respect to
everybody.

The LMC would like to think
that this reminder stops any
repetition and we get back to
the snooker night being a
competitive social event.

FIRST DIVISION

First Division
Week 18

This week sees another set of
weird results, Poynton RBL "A"
took on Poynton WMC "A" at home
and won 10 - 4 moving them back
into second place seven points
behind with a game in hand to
Cheadle Conservatives "A" who
technically were away to their
"B" team and won 8 - 6.
Denton Liberal Club "A" who were
last weeks big winners went down
12 - 2 at home to mid table
Cheadle Social "A" this moved
Denton down to third place,
Benchill Conservatives "A" visited
Cheadle Social Club "B" with the
home team coming out on top by
10 - 4.
Cheadle Hulme Institute "A" took
on Hazel Grove Snooker "A" at
home and had a heavy loss of
12 - 2.
Wilmslow Conservatives "A"
collected another six points at
home to St Johns Catholic Club "A"
who managed the 8 - 6 win.

Denton WMC "A" Phil Henderson 73
break still leads the way in the
highest break competition.

SECOND DIVISION
Week 18

The top two teams in this
division The Albert Club "A" and
Reddish Conservatives "A" went
head to head at The Albert Club
and what would probably have been
expected resulted in a close match
with the home team taking the 8 - 6
win.

Denton Liberal Club "B" went away
to Cheadle Hulme Cons "B" and
came away with a 12 - 2 win taking
them into third place, Matt Stafford
of Denton having a 37 break in his
frame.

Hazel Grove Reform "A" made it a
bad away day for promotion chasing
Cheadle Hulme Cons "A" losing out
10 - 4 and slipping down to
fourth place.

Great Moor Sports "B" took on their
"A" team and had a big 12 - 2 win to
be just outside the promotion places

Alderley Union Sports "A" Paul Hart
takes over the high break position
with his 51 break.

NEW RULE ON CANCELATION OF MATCHES.

Fixtures can only be cancelled for the following reasons:- Closure of Club, Fire or Water damage to Club tables or for a Clubs AGM.

Work, Football, Illness or any Social Event are not bona fide reasons to cancel, even though it will mean playing short.

The penalties for cancelling a game will be 10 points awarded to opponents and 10 points deducted from the team who cancelled who will also receive a £5.00 fine.

The Match Secretary or League Secretary must be contacted when wanting to cancel a match, they will decide if reason is valid.

If in their opinion a valid reason has been given then it will be reported back to the Committee and Delegates at the next meeting.

Their decision will decide appropriate action and will be final ie Game rescheduled or rule to be enforced.

Teams who have a particular game that needs rearranging, can try to play before the season starts or use the week before the Christmas break, providing opponents agree to do so.

NO GAMES TO BE PLAYED AFTER LAST FIXTURES
